competition. The award was presented to Carolyn by Prime Minister Tony
Blair at 10 Downing Street on 10th February 2004.
After a run by the Press Gallery (the forum at
Westminster for all political journalists), both Carolyn and her mother were
invited for to participate in an exciting day along with the other regional

political editors of the BBC, ITV and Sky and they met political journalists
and MPs. They toured the House of Commons and the House of Lords, then
had another Q&A session with Charles Clarke, Minister for Education
before touring 10 Downing Street and meeting Tony Blair. Then it was
off for tea with Michael Martin, the Speaker of the House of Commons.
In the words of Carolyn's Mom -- "It was a really good, memorable
