Erin Celaya

February 2026 was a great month for Erin, the daughter of Daniel and Kerri Norton Celaya of Hillsborough, New Jersey. She won an impressive number of awards in Irish dance competitions in two different states. Erin takes Irish dance lessons at the Lynn Academy of Irish Dance.

February 14th she danced in the Dreams Come True feis in Orlando, Florida.   Hosted by Sarah Costello Irish Dance Academy.

1st place in the B Treble Jig, B Horn pipe, B Trad Set, C Light Jig and the C Light Treble Jig. She earned 4th place trophies in the B Slip Jig, C Reel and C Hop Jig.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

February 22nd Erin competed closer to home at the Feis at The Castle in Parsippany, New Jersey. There she took 1st place in the B Slip Jig, C Treble Jig, and the C Trad Set. She also took 3rd place in C Reel and 5th place in C Hard Shoe Cup.

 

 

 

Erin is the granddaughter of Kenneth and Mary Looney Norton of Dumont, New Jersey; great-granddaughter of Thomas and Mary Tierney Norton of Astoria, Queens, New York; great-great-granddaughter of Francis and Catherine Reilly Tinneny of Belturbet, Co. Cavan, Ireland; great-great-great-granddaughter of Thomas and Bridget Gilmartin Tinneny of Belturbet and great- great-great-great-granddaughter of Francis and Anne Elliott Tinneny of Belturbet.

Note: The surnames of Francis and Catherine Reilly Tinneny were changed from Tinneny to Tierney sometime after their arrival in America. Thereafter the surname of their descendants has been Tierney.
