Daniel Celaya
Daniel “Dan” Celaya, the husband of Kerri
Norton Celaya, of Hillsborough, New Jersey was
promoted to captain with New Jersey Transit Police.
The promotion ceremony was held July 16, 2024 at the
NJ Transit Police Headquarters presided over by
Chief Christopher Trucillo. Dan has been a member of
the Transit Police since 2007 raising up thru the
ranks of patrolman, sergeant and lieutenant to
command staff level in a department of 300+
officers.

Dan’s wife Kerri is the daughter of Kenneth and Mary
Looney Norton of Dumont, New Jersey; granddaughter
of Thomas and Mary Tierney Norton of Astoria,
Queens, New York; great-granddaughter of Francis
and Catherine Reilly Tinneny of
Belturbet, Co. Cavan, Ireland; great-great-granddaughter
of Thomas
and Bridget Gilmartin Tinneny of
Belturbet and great-great-great-granddaughter of Francis
and Anne Elliott Tinneny of
Belturbet.
