Paul how can I condense your life into just a
few words? You were an amazing husband. supportive, caring,
hardworking, funny, frustrating at times!. But nothing was
too much trouble
for you. We had 17 years of a happy marriage with lots of
laughs and banter along the way. The family said it was like
watching Gogglebox between us! You were able to do so many
things and we made a great team. You treated me like a lady
and bought me some lovely dresses to wear at the most
amazing regimental dinners. You introduced me into your
military world where I made many friends and I could see how
patriotic and proud you were of your service.
We enjoyed many caravan trips around the
country. You were such an outdoor person and loved the
countryside. Your passion for life never waned. You
introduced me to fly fishing and you weren't impressed when
I caught two trout on my first ever attempt!
We had a lot of common interests including
the theatre and music and we went to many concerts together.
You were always first up on the dance floor getting everyone
in party mode. You were game for anything. We were quite
different characters but somehow it worked!
You loved
your family, your daughters Janine and Chelsea and your 9
grandchildren. We had many happy seaside holidays with them.
The grandchildren will never forget their grandad constantly
teasing them and winding them up at every opportunity. But
you were paid back when they buried you up to your neck in
sand! You had a special relationship with them.
You also
had an amazing bond with your mum Hilda. You were cut from
the same cloth and called a spade a spade. Your same sense
of humour was very evident as there was always lots of
laughs when you two were around. On one occasion Hilda
shaved her head by accident. You asked her what she had
done, she just shrugged and laughed! You enjoyed watching tv
together, darts, horse racing and let's not forget the
important bacon butty with brown sauce!
Your
brothers, sisters, mum and dad were so proud of you and your
achievements. Your mum and dad were so proud of you at your
passing out parade. You were at the start of a successful
military career.
Paul you
have given me so much, where do I start? You have made me so
happy to be in your company and I was proud to be your wife.
I will cherish and hold dear our memories and I will never
forget. You have left a huge void in all of our lives, each
of us with our own private memories but the void will be
filled with fun, laughter, good times, partying, dodgy
dancing and most of all love. Your words will forever echo
in my heart, " Live for today, no reruns!".
You
certainly did that with your amazing zest for life and I
will live my life that way too in your
memory.
