Lee and I once again had
the opportunity to host an Irish cousin. For the first time we
had the opportunity to have a cousin from Northern Ireland visit
with us.
We were delighted to have Sheena McArthur, the granddaughter of
Mary Tinneny O’Kane and her friend Jonathan Montgomery with
visit with us. Sheena lives with her mother Majella in the
little town of Limavady near Derry and Jonathan is from Balamina
about 45 minutes from Derry. We had a great time and trust that
they did. They spent their first couple of days in the States
visiting New York City where they were amazed at the character,
size, scope, sounds and people of the place.
They had a
carriage ride in central park, visited ground zero, and took the
boat to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. They were hosted
in New York by cousins Bob Sickinger the grandson of Catherine
Tinneny and his wife JoAnn and daughter Erika. Jonathan even
learned NYC dog walking etiquette when he walked Bob’s dog with
a little plastic bag.
The week with Rich & Lee
and their family in South Carolina was full of food, visits with
family, museums, Charleston and other sites.
