Bruce Tinneny &  Family Visit Cousins In Ireland.

Carol  And Bruce Tinneny

Bruce and Carol Tinneny of Rock Hill Maryland and their family visited Hubert and Susanna Tinneny in Belturbet, County Cavan, Ireland September 2025. The family are long time Minnesota Vikings football team fans. Bruce, Carol, their sons Eric and Bruce Jr. his wife Kristin and daughter Grace made the trip to attend the Minnesota Vikings vs. Pittsburgh Steelers game in Dublin September 28th. They arrived in Ireland a week before the game so they could meet family, visit important locations related to their Tinneny ancestors and tour the south of Ireland.

After arriving at Dublin airport they drove to County Cavan and spent the evening at the Sleeve Russell Inn where they connected with Susanna.

Susanna took the visitors to the parish church of the Tinnenys of Goladuff, The Church of the Immaculate Conception, “Saint Marry’s” in Newtownbutler, County Fermanagh.

In the graveyard of Saint Mary’s they visited the graves of Tinneny cousins.

Philip Tinneny and John James McGuinness the son of John McGuinness and Alice Tinneny.

Also at Saint Mary’s the graves of Mary Tinneny Murray of Goladuff and her family.

Along with the main headstone at the Murray gravesite in Saint Mary’s cemetery, they saw the second marker memorializing Tinneny cousin Andy Murray.

From Saint Mary’s they drove to Drummully Cemetery the site of an ancient monastery. There they visited the large grave site where generations of Bruce’s direct Tinneny ancestors are buried as far back to at least 1807. The grave is marked with the single headstone of Thomas Tinneny of Goladuff 1734 -1807.
