Mary Theresa Yeakel H104
Mary Yeakel was the second child and first daughter of Rose Tinneny and Joseph Yeakel. She was born in the family home at 4737 Pechin Street in Philadelphia on October 5, 1915. Mary was baptized in Holy Family Catholic Church in the Manayunk section of Philadelphia. Her godparents were her grandmother Margaret Tinneny and her father's brother Edward Yeakel.
When she was three years old the family moved from Roxborough to 183 School Street in Bala Cynwyd just across the river from Manayunk. Mary attended Saint Mary's Grade School, Manayunk. She went on to Saint Mary's Commercial Program, which she completed when she was 16 or 17 years old.
Mary worked at a bank in Center City Philadelphia for many years. About 1937, she married George Myers. Mary and her husband lived in Frazer, Pennsylvania and had three children. She enjoyed embroidering, cooking and cleaning house. Mary died August 15, 1979.
